Is CBD from the store actually legal, or is that different?
Good question, because people mix these up constantly. CBD, hemp, and THC are three different words with three different sets of rules. They are not automatically the same legal thing.
Here is the clean way to think about it. THC is the compound that gets you high. CBD does not. Hemp is cannabis bred to be very low in THC. A lot of what is sold as "CBD" is hemp-derived and very low in THC, which is a different conversation from high-THC cannabis.
The honest gap: what a product is legally allowed to be, and what is actually inside the bottle, are two different questions. Labels are not always accurate. A product can say one thing and test another.
What you can do: read the label, look for a certificate of analysis (a lab test) if the seller has one, and know what you are buying before you buy it. If a shop cannot tell you what is in the product, that tells you something too.
