Sitting with the dying: presence over fixing

The hardest and most important doula skill is presence — being with, not fixing. Breath that slows to match theirs. A hand that doesn't pull away. Silence that doesn't rush to fill itself. Plant medicine, hemp among them, is one small comfort we can offer — but the deepest medicine is a person who stays. What helps you stay present when it's hard?
