Every Wednesday I open a thread — Ras's Wisdom Wednesday — where we travel through the plant's full story:

• The ancient traditions that used cannabis across Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean
• The colonial suppression of plant medicine and the people who carried it
• The cultural movements — Rastafari, reggae, Indigenous healing — that kept the plant alive
• The justice work still to be done in legalization and equity
• The meaning and philosophy of living closer to the plant
